Eberswalde is the district capital of Barnim in the north-east of Brandenburg and currently has a population of 42,664 (as of 31 August 2021).
The municipality is located approximately 50 kilometres north-east of Berlin and about 22 kilometres west of the River Oder. It is approximately 17 kilometres south-east of Bad Freienwalde. By train, you can reach Berlin Central Station within 30 minutes, from where you can easily and quickly reach all of Berlin's shopping centres and sights, as well as the trendy districts. As a medium-sized centre, Eberswalde offers a range of everyday services.
